Biosketch
From an early age, Angella showed a passion for creativity, design, and learning. Her inquisitive and curious nature embraced new challenges. Her hobbies and artistic interests included various forms of dance, creative arts, and music. Angella's leadership skills were honed form her tenure as a Girl Scout cookie sales leader, lead percussionist in Band/Orchestra, and Junior Secretary.
As an adult, she found the opportunity to execute passion to train and motivate others through creativity and lively engagement, while applying sound Adult Learning Methodologies and Theories. It seems like she was destined for the Masters of Training and Development program at Oakland University, where she received her degree in 2009.
Angella’s professional and personal endeavors include a variety of L&D initiatives in both traditional and alternative environments, including Automotive, Government (Local and Federal) Education, Healthcare, Non-Profit Organizations, Marketing, and Sales. Here are a few key career highlights:
Handled the creation, execution and evaluation of eLearning and Instructor Lead training materials for a learning audience of over 200,000 enrollees and staff for a statewide health insurance marketplace in compliance with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010.
Designed, developed and updated training materials, courses, learning objects and job aids for over 1,400 medical staff and faculty at four specialty centers for a leadership institute.
Supported the Training Department through implementation of technically driven curricula for technicians, analysts and geographers at participating in 2020 Decennial Census Post Enumeration Survey (PES) Operations.
Conducted an organization-wide Needs Assessment as a Change Management Specialist with a Software Migration project for over 10,000 employees and 40 departments under a county Executive Office.
Volunteered as a Project Manager and Curriculum Developer for Global Welfare Association (GLOWA) of Cameroon for the United Nations by overseeing the design and development of Skilled Trade Certification curriculum for victims of human trafficking.
Angella has participated in several community initiatives that deal with issues affecting under-served demographics. She has participated in focus groups and workshops discussing topics including Conflict Resolution, Cultural Competency, and Youth Mentorship. Additionally, she served as a volunteer Chaplain and Instructor and counseled incarcerated women in the Southeast Michigan for over 12 years.
